Kate earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 1989. She has practiced family law almost exclusively for more than 17 years. Prior to co-founding the firm in 1995, she served as a prosecutor for the 19th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office for five years, where she handled misdemeanor and felony cases, prosecuted more than 80 jury trials, and supervised the misdemeanor department.
Kate is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator and recently served on the Florida Bar’s 19th Judicial Circuit Attorney Grievance Committee, on the board of directors for C.A.S.T.L.E. and for local schools with the Florida Supreme Court Justice Teaching program. Kate has served on the board of directors for the March of Dimes and Child Care Resources, where she also served as president of the board, and has also served on the Domestic Violence Task Force and as a committee member for the United Way.
